On the eve of a new president, what better way to start a blog. CNN's coverage of the results has been excellent all day. I was very surprised that they had all this information. The demographic breakdown is a very useful tool in comparing the previous elections. As most people know, I am a staunch liberal. While I think that ultimately Obama will win easily, I don't know if he would have been the best choice. I think that his ideas are revolutionary but perhaps too much of a change too fast from Dumbass (Bush) and Shoot 'em up (Cheney). I still think that Hilary would have been a better transition candidate and Obama would be more successful in following her time in office. Hilary's campaign might be the worst I've witnessed since I became interested in politics. Obama on the other hand seems to be a seasoned pro.
I found this interesting:

Something that scares me about the elections (with the U.S. being so anti-republican and Bush) is that Democrats may secure filibuster proof majority. While I am pro-democrat, I think having too much support could push some legislation that could be lopsided and prove to be detrimental to the country as a whole.
That being said, it wouldn't be horrible to adopt a more socialist health care program. My rates in 1 year have gone up almost 200%. I don't make a whole lot of money, so when you more than double health care costs for a single person, let alone what that means for a family or single parent, the effects are lasting and downright scary.
In terms of Iraq: THEY STILL DON'T HAVE WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION. GET THE F OUT OF THERE!!!
Enough of politics, this is the rundown of what is happening in my life these days. I am working for a chemical company in Greensboro, NC. I know right? I went to school for Sports Marketing and Management. Kinda went the other direction there. But it pays the bills and allows me to do the things I actually enjoy.
Kev and I are going to take up Mountain Biking. We are both too lazy to run so adding some sort of exercise to the equation will be good. There are some amazing trails in the Carolinas so once the weather starts turning warm again, we will be cycling and camping across the south east.
Everyone around me is getting hitched or paired up. I had the honor of being kev's best man where it turns out you can give a best man speech absolutely hammered. (I thought we were going to skip it and no one else gave a toast). Chetter is getting married too in May. God Bless Katherine for being able to put up with him. Kay and Weez have also paired up with some cool guys down here in Carolina.
I am still single (go figure) and as such I dive into my music as much as possible. I have been building up my equipment and hopefully by summer I have everything I need to do some good recording. I find the electric guitar in my hands more often than the acoustic these days. So there is alot of jazz and blues emanating from the office window.
The bachelor pad is up and running. I have a nice 3rd story, 2 bedroom apt. I hope in the next year to buy a house or town house in the next year or so. I am growing up way to fast. I am 25, living on my own, and I drive a mini van (albeit a company car and free). I need to win the powerball so I can get back to being a kid.
